FedEx Announces New Temporary and Peak Surcharges

FedEx, new Temporary and Peak Surcharges, effective June 8 until further notice.

FedEx's new peak surcharges in summary:

  • $0.40 per package for ALL SmartPost deliveries.
  • $30.00 per package for ALL Oversize U.S. Domestic Ground and Express deliveries.
  • $0.30 per package for U.S. Residential Ground and Express deliveries for customers with 40,000 or more packages shipped in a given week when that volume exceeds 120% their average weekly volume from February 2020.

UPS is Increasing the Previously Announced, Temporary Peak Surcharge, Effective April 12

Effective April 12, 2020, UPS will increase previously announced peak surcharges for all shipments from China Mainland and Hong Kong to North America & Europe regions, including the United States. Additionally, the peak surcharges will apply to shipments with other origins and/or destinations. As of now, the peak surcharge will be assessed until further notice.

Due to supply chain disruptions caused by COVID-19, FedEx is temporarily implementing a surcharge on Express and TNT international shipments. Shipments originating in the U.S. will be assessed a $0.10 per pound surcharge, with a minimum of $1.00 per parcel shipment and $50.00 per freight shipment, to all international destinations.
